Casita
Frontera is situated in the heart of historic Patagonia, adjacent to an early territorial adobe home where
we live. The environment is plush with mature trees & plantings & a fountain anchors the front patio.
The back patio garden is ideal for lingering, particularly for bird watching or evenings by the fire (a large Turkish copper
pit). Year-round birdfeeders keep our gardens busy with an amazing assortment of regional birds, including hummers.
Our guests are welcome to use all the sitting areas, front & back. Casita
Frontera is separated from the main house by an interior garden courtyard. The Casita
has two entrances, one out to the garden courtyard & the other to Mendoza Alley where convenient off-road parking
is available. The overall setting is garden-like,
welcoming & private & it's very convenient for walking around Patagonia.
Casita Frontera’s memorable atmosphere is regionally eclectic in nature &
features authentic textiles & rugs; regional furniture; folk & contemporary art. The 800sf two-story loft
space includes a sitting area; a vintage (twin size) iron daybed downstairs that also serves as a cozy
corner sitting area; complete kitchen & two sleeping areas (one up & one down) each with a comfy queen size bed.
The Casita's one bathroom is downstairs & features an unusually large Mexican tile walk-in shower. A wrought
iron spiral staircase takes you to the 2nd floor loft bedroom which has ample storage & floor space & charming elevated
views of the town. Please note that since this is a loft space, the upstairs bedroom is partially open to the downstairs
via the wrought iron staircase & balcony so it is not soundproof. Casita
Frontera has been thoughtfully furnished & appointed, including all kitchen needs. Bedding &
linens were selected for their quality, aesthetic appeal & comfort. A television with satellite reception,
DVD/VCR player & a stereo system are discretely hidden in a vintage armoire. YFI service is available; however, there
is no telephone inside the Casita. Most visitors find that Verizon cell service is most reliable in the immediate Patagonia
area. For those conducting business while in Patagonia & in need of fax or copy services, our office is
on the property & we're here to assist you.
A two-night minimum stay is observed. Our
lodging rate is $125/evening (single or double occupancy) in addition to sales tax of 9.61% & a $25.00 charge
per evening for each additional teenager or adult. The Casita accomodates
a maximum of 5 people. Please note that a charming adjacent cottage is available for those with slightly larger
parties. It has one queen bed & a private bath (shower only), a sitting area but no kitchen.
It is available for booking in conjunction with your stay at Casita Frontera
. Reduced rates are available for extended-stay guests. We accept payment by cash or check but not credit
cards & a 50% deposit is requested to secure your stay with us. That deposit is fully refundable
with 7-day cancellation notice or if we're able to successfully rebook your reservation time. The Casita is a smoke & pet-free environment.
Please contact us for additional information & to confirm availability. We look forward to your visit.
